Communication Specialist, BGE

.The Communications Specialist, is responsible for planning and executing internal communications programs in support of the Communications Director[AN1] . This person engages corporate and business unit/operating company organizations to gather and disseminate messages that foster employee connection across the enterprise, ultimately to help drive business goals.

Primary Duties

  • Ensure effective communication of corporate goals and initiatives to employees. (30%)
  • Support and participate in communications programs and initiatives. (20%)
  • Produce and/or edit accurate, compelling, and editorially proficient written communications. (25%)
  • Oversee a variety of communication tasks to support leadership, including talking points, short presentations, and online messages. (5%)
  • Assist in resource-sharing duties with other Communications departments. (10%)
  • Implement improvements from insights generated by team’s data analysis of internal communications activities. (10%)

Job Scope

  • Position activities are focused on internal communications for broader application
  • Involves some proactive communication planning, with oversight from supervisor, and plan execution, project leadership and a high level of coordination with other functions.
  • May require significant outreach to internal business units and developing strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Requires occasional local travel and occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Works under general supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-year relevant degree and a minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in internal or external communications
  • Proven communications skills; both written and interpersonal.
  • Excellent writing skills and self-motivation
  • In lieu of degree, 3-6 years of relevant experience

  • Energy business/industry knowledge.
  • Understanding organizational communications.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake new projects.
  • Familiarity with enterprise email marketing platforms and content management systems.
  • Experience editing short- and long-form written communications.
  • Familiarity with using data to inform communications strategies.
  • Willingness to learn and undertake new projects.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors:USD $60,000.00/Yr. – USD $90,000.00/Yr.
